Thripor-I (Orius insidiosus)
Generalist Predator for Thrips, Aphids, Moth Eggs & More – Koppert Biological Systems
Thripor-I contains the predatory minute pirate bug Orius insidiosus, one of the most versatile and aggressive generalist predators used in integrated pest management. This predator is highly effective against thrips (all life stages), but also attacks aphids, whiteflies, spider mites, and even caterpillar eggs.
Orius actively hunts on leaves, flowers, and in crop canopies—making it especially valuable in flowering cannabis and ornamental crops where pest pressure is high. Unlike mites, Orius feeds on adult thrips, helping knock back populations fast.
-
Key Features:
• Targets: Thrips (larvae + adults), aphids, whiteflies, mites, moth eggs
• Active Agent: Orius insidiosus (minute pirate bug)
• Format: 100 mL bottle containing 1,000 predatory bugs
• Application: Broadcast onto canopy, near flowers or pest hotspots
• Crop Use: Cannabis, vegetables, ornamentals, and greenhouse crops -
Benefits:
• One of the only biologicals that targets adult thrips
• Versatile predator that attacks multiple pest types
• Ideal for flowering crops where pesticide use is limited
• Works well when combined with predatory mites and sticky traps
• No residue—safe for organic and IPM-based programs
